Our Senior Management Team

Our Senior Management Team is responsible for the day-to-day running of Carers Gloucestershire, enabling our staff teams to develop and deliver a wide range of services and support to help carers, not only in their caring role but to have a life of their own. While each manager is responsible for a specific area of the organisation, collectively they are responsible for ensuring that carers are at the heart of everything we do.

Tim Poole - Chief Executive

Tim Poole - Chief Executive

It wasn’t until I joined Carers Gloucestershire that I realised just how many people’s lives are affected by caring, despite having close family members with significant caring responsibilities myself, albeit unrecognised at the time.

My primary role within the charity is to ensure that together we achieve our strategic goals and secure our future sustainability. I can’t do that alone, so I am proud to lead a dedicated team of people all committed to doing their best for carers.

In my spare time I am a passionate season ticket holder at Gloucester Rugby, so well used to dealing with setbacks and then starting each new year full of optimism and hope!

As Strategy and Development Manager, I support Tim to look holistically at how we are doing as an organisation and look for new opportunities to better support carers.

I also have specific responsibility for our SENDIASS and Challenging Behaviour support, areas I am passionate about due to my own caring role.

Jane Stanfield - Carer Services Manager

Jane Stanfield - Carer Services Manager

My work with carers dates back to 1991 developing services for carers in London.

I have worked for Carers Gloucestershire since November 2003, starting as an advice and advocacy worker for Cheltenham and Tewkesbury, and now managing the work of our countywide team of advisers and assessors.  This includes our hospital liaison work, telephone advisers and the locality advisers who do face to face assessments.

I have been in my role for four years having worked previous for the NHS 2gether Trust. I'm responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of the office ensuring that support systems are in place and manage the administration team who are the initial point of contact for carers.

My job is very varied from liaising with the cleaning company to ensure we have enough hand towels to preparing documents for a board meeting. Outside of work I enjoy home improvements and baking.

I oversee Carer Community Development, supporting carers to become more involved in their local communities and working with community groups to become more ‘carer-friendly’. We want to see communities where carers feel fully supported and included. I live in Cheltenham with my young family who seem to take up most of my spare time!

Rachel Jones - PR & Communications Manager

Rachel Jones - PR & Communications Manager

My role with Carers Gloucestershire is to make sure that carers know about the services and support we provide plus increase awareness of the challenges faced every day by the county's 63,000 unpaid carers.

I joined the organisation in 2017, after more than 20 years of working in public relations and communications, mostly in the charity, education, arts and social care sectors.  My family have had caring responsibilities since the 1980s.
