Short Breaks Matters…
Published April 2012

It’s that time of year again, when thoughts start turning to the idea of a short break or holiday when the weather changes.  But, for many Carers, this can seem like quite a tall order…finding appropriate transport, accommodation and sometimes the money to go away can seem like a daunting task, but there is help available.

The ‘short breaks’ web page  on this website provides useful information about such things as adapted accommodation, transport, insurance, funding and even ‘accessible beaches’. It also contains details of subsidised holidays available to Carers and/or the people they look after. Exciting additions to these are the new caravans owned by The Carers Support Centre Bristol and South Gloucestershire. These are on Hoburne sites and available to any group including a Carer at a greatly reduced rate, details are at:- www.carersholidays.org.uk

If you do not have access to the internet or you need additional information regarding ‘breaks for Carers’ please call me on 01452 386283.

While on the subject of short breaks, we have various free trips planned for Carers for the year ahead. Check our events calendar  to see whats coming up
